Markham Stouffville Hospital Foundation expansions
Markham Stouffville Hospital was built to provide care to a community of 110,000 but currently serves a population of over 300,000. MSH will continue providing exceptional progressive community care by building a new addition to the south and west of the existing building, essentially doubling the size of the hospital. The expansion plans include a new emergency department, improved and expanded ambulatory clinics, more inpatient beds and operating rooms, new diagnostic imaging department, a new maternal child area, and a new mental health unit.

Markham Stouffville Hospital Foundation exists to support the Hospital’s mandate of providing compassionate, patient-centered care. Building a hospital is a partnership between the hospital, government and the community – each playing a significant role. All medical equipment is funded through donations from the community. Markham Stouffville Hospital Foundation must raise $50 million to support the expansion of the hospital as it continues to provide excellent quality care to the community.
